Engagement
SageWater, is a national plumbing and construction company focused on replacing piping in multi-story residential and commercial buildings. SageWater offers its services throughout the Country, and developed a proprietary database of potential customers and property-specific specifications through substantial sales and marketing activities performed over several decades. In addition, SageWater developed an innovative approach to re-piping solutions which allows tenants and residents to remain in place while the company replaces the piping.
Through outside counsel, SageWater retained Ocean Tomo, a part of J.S. Held Managing Director Robert McSorley to determine the measures and amounts of SageWater’s monetary recovery for violations of the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA) and breach of non-solicitation and confidentiality/non-disclosure restrictive covenants contained in an employment agreement, and for tortious interference with a contract. SageWater’s counsel further filed a Motion for Preliminary Injunction.
Results
Following oral arguments, SageWater’s Motion for Preliminary Injunction was granted and the matter settled before trial. The Ocean Tomo team supporting Robert McSorley included Tom Pappalardo and Aidan King.
