Engagement
Our client was considering a broad partnership with a multinational technology company’s research organization devoted to life sciences to create an integrated digital health platform and technology. Ocean Tomo’s role as a financial advisor on this engagement included supporting our client with data licensing and pricing negotiations through guidance on value, reasonable royalty rates, and pricing.
Results
The goal of our work was to provide the client with valuable information for its data licensing negotiations, including providing a supportable royalty rate range for use in its negotiations. Ocean Tomo considered the details of the planned developments under the proposed partnership and the contributions of each party to said developments. As part of the analysis, Ocean Tomo reviewed factors such as the subject companies, the competitive landscape, analyst coverage, comparable license agreements, and comparable partnerships. Our client was satisfied that our independent assessment and guidance better positioned them for negotiations with the technology company.
