Ocean Tomo hosts AIPLA Diversity in IP Law event in our Chicago and San Francisco offices

Later today Ocean Tomo and the AIPLA Diversity in IP Committee are hosting a Diversity and Inclusion CLE-pending panel discussion with speakers including:

  • Moderator, Kiran Avani, Chief Attorney ,CTA, “ChiWIP” Chicago Women in IP In-House Advisor Member
  • Sam Schwarts-Fenwick, Partner of Seyfarth Shaw, Leads the firm’s LGBT Affinity Group
  • Lindsey Dates, Partner of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Chair of The Chicago Committee Advancing Minority Attorneys
  • Leynee Cruz, Associate of Chuhak & Tecson, President-elect of The Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois
  • Molly Keelan, Client Services Director of Ocean Tomo LLC, Chair of “ChiWIP” Chicago Women in IP

The panel will be followed by a networking reception. The event is designed to promote professional growth and development among our peers.


Kristi L. Stathis is the Marketing Director for Ocean Tomo and serves on the board for the Center for Applied Innovation, a Chicago-based non-profit organization created to manage education, public policy outreach and related economic activity around applied technology and intellectual property (IP) rights in the State of Illinois and around the world. She is the co-creator of the Center for Applied Innovation’s Invent for Humanity™ Technology Transfer Exchange Fair, a community, marketplace and event facilitating Appropriate Technology transfer for the betterment of mankind. She also serves on the board of The Children’s Research Fund, principal benefactor of the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute, the research arm of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, having served as the annual campaign co-chair in 2013.
